Consume Less+Consider More=Feel Better… it’s good to be good!
Hello,
How are you? I am fine. Blah, blah, blah…
‘Fine’ is like ‘nice’, it’s a bit of a cop out…no really, how are you?
I used to feel ‘fine’, but a bit ‘empty’… now I try hard to do a bit of good every day, I feel much better!
In the (currently) wealthy west, most people have more than enough, but still don’t feel that great.
What really seems to be lacking is a sense of purpose; many people are at their best in times of crisis; they feel needed and a valuable part of a community or bigger picture.
From childhood, we aren’t offered meaningful direction. School teaches the brain, but not the heart or mind.
The economy thrives on keeping you wanting more. Advertising’s main purpose is to constantly create itches in you, then offer products with which to scratch that itch.
Outside of learning how to make money so we can have it milked, scammed or lured out of us, we are left pretty much adrift. We all need direction.
What better purpose then, than to do good, make others feel good and of course make yourself feel good into the bargain?!
I think the feeling from doing good is one of the best feelings there is.
True good often gives me goosebumps!
From omnivores to vegans, travellers to homebodies, shopaholics to saveaholics, there is something for everyone here…
so….
What does it mean to be vegawarian?
It means eating more consciously – this is something we do everyday and it is a great place to start. It means taking less and giving more. It means gratitude and awareness.
It is about becoming a human ‘thinking’ rather than just a human ‘being’.
Who can be vegawarian? You! Everybody can make a difference! In fact if you don’t, who will?
This does not mean giving up pleasures of the flesh (so to speak!), but just being more conscious in the choices you make.
Being vegawarian is satisfying, easy and good!
Kate Moss says: “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels”.
And I says:
“Nothing tastes as good as eating good… and nothing feels as good as being good.”
So, you can see that Kate has better grammar than I do.
Anyway, just remember:
Junk food might taste yummy while it lasts, but the nasty feeling afterwards lingers …
The novelty of getting something new soon wears off and is replaced with the desire for something else, including more space to put all the clutter!
Bitching about someone or cheating might feel ok at the time, but leaves a guilty, dirty feeling afterwards.
Even Mick Jagger couldn’t get no satisfaction ridin’ round the world- maybe he would have been better off at home, gathering quotes from Moss…
The better you treat the world, the better it will treat you.
I hope you’ll find something practical and interesting in the pages that follow…welcome…!
